After gaining a journalism degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, Jillian Whitaker went into the world excited and eager to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a news anchor but quickly felt that dream slipping through her fingers.

Dear viewers,

 First of all, thank you for supporting us since 2015! I cannot believe it's been that long. Wow! If you have been following us on social media and keeping up, you know that I just recently became a mother! I still don't believe it myself sometimes and then I hear this tiny person yell, "MAMA!" and reality sets in. Since I have become a mother, my views and perspectives have shifted. In result of this, we have a NEW direction and focus for our audience of Better Black News!
